family confidence: 0 — not family / context
Party member #12 on JJM's 1907 diary, listed with Owen Brinton. She left Mammoth for Gardiner and the train with him on 15 Aug 1907 after a special-delivery letter said her sister was very sick (all four known sisters lived for decades; which one is unknown). JJM spelled the name "Laughrin"; the family spelled it Loughran. Identified (0.95) as Ann Laurie (Annie Laura) Loughran, b. Joliet, Illinois, 19 Nov 1884, eldest child of Michael J. Loughran (b. 1853 Ireland, a miner; d. Butte 1916) and Elizabeth (Skinner) Loughran (b. 1862 Illinois; d. Butte 1921), who came to Butte c.1891 from Virginia City, Nevada. Eighth-grade graduate of the Washington School, Butte, June 1900 (the 1900 census in the GEDCOM has her as "Annie Loughran", b. Nov 1884 Illinois). Married Owen Fugate Brinton (1884-1939), her partner on the trip, before Jul 1910; children Elizabeth (1910, Utah), Florence Ann (1911, Kingman, Ariz.) and Charles (1913 Arizona - 1931 Butte). At Basin, Montana, in 1921; died in Missoula County 25 Jun 1968; buried Holy Cross Cemetery, Butte. Her brother Mike J. Loughran (1887-1960) was the Silver Bow county surveyor (1920 picnic clipping); her sister Genevieve appears in the 1913 eighth-grade list clipping. NOT Mrs. Annie (Quinn) Loughrin (1858-1910), wife of the jailer David Loughrin, nor Ann Jane (McHugh) Loughran (1861-1898). Research: research/docs/sagebrushers-companions-2026-09-28/ann-laughrin.md
