Mrs. Wm. Thoroway, "Bird", probably Bertha L. (Konen) Thirloway (1884–1946; 1907 Sagebrushers traveler)
Also known as: Bird, Bertha Konen, Bertha L. Thirloway, Mrs. W. E. Thirloway
family confidence: 0 — not family / context
Party member #10; JJM lists her only as "Mrs Wm." under her husband. "Bird" in the diary (pp. 20-43) is very probably her: after Brinton left on 15 Aug, Bird is a woman who cooks with Will and is named apart from Grace, May, Kate and Nell; the booklet's "Brin" at pp. 3 and 34 is Dan Murphy's 1994 change to the typescript's "Bird". Probably (0.8) Bertha L. Konen, b. 1884, daughter of John F. and Margaret (Wallenhurst) Konen of 544 Nevada Avenue and elder sister of May Konen (#8): Butte High School class of 1900, substitute teacher 1900-03, married William Emory Thirloway (date not found; first child b. 25 Jun 1908). Died Jan 1946, Silver Bow County; buried Mount Moriah Cemetery, Butte, beside her husband. Research: research/docs/sagebrushers-companions-2026-09-28/thoroways.md
