Long-time Walkerville resident, came to Butte more than 50 years before her death in 1940 per the Montana Standard obit (1940-05-30). A native of Michigan. Moved to Los Angeles in later life; died there May 1940. Her three sisters Mrs. Nellie Tracy, Mrs. William Pascoe, and Mrs. Agnes Brennan were all of Butte at the time of her death. Children per the obit: Mrs. James J. Murphy (of LA, on Victoria Ave; widow of the user's JJM, the 1938-d. LA James Murphy son of Pat-and-Ellen; she is Agnes Kelly, m. 1908), Miss Mary "Mamie" Kelly (LA, unmarried, d. 1954 LA), Mrs. Fred Hauser (Seattle), and Walter Kelly (LA). Mother of Agnes Kelly, who married the user's JJM on 19 October 1908 at St. Lawrence church. The 1908 Murphy-Kelly wedding write-ups name the bride's parents as "Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly of Walkerville" (Butte Miner 1908-10-24) and "Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly, 412 West Daly street" (Anaconda Standard 1908-10-25); the Standard names the bridesmaid as Miss Mamie Kelly, sister of the bride. The groom was the user's JJM, not the James J. Murphy who died 1927 at 79 Missoula (whose widow was a different Agnes). Agnes Kelly Murphy is the "Mrs. James J. Murphy" of LA named in the 1940 obit's daughter list, and this Mary Kelly is the "mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Kelly" in JJM's 1938 LA obit. Agnes's parents are recorded as John Kelly and Mary Chatham on person_agnes_kelly_murphy (1887 baptismal certificate; family tree).
