James Connolly (Butte AOH Division 1 officer; county treasurer 1912)

Also known as: James J. Connolly, JAMES CONNOLLY, Jas. J. Connolly

family confidence: 0 — not family / context

NOT the executed 1916 Easter Rising leader James Connolly, whose portrait the Anaconda Standard printed among Ireland's martyrs on 12 Mar 1922 (that source is not linked here). One Butte man under two printings, 85: the Division 1 letterhead of 15 Oct 1914 prints 'JAS. J. CONNOLLY, Fin. Sec'y' and he signs 'Jas J Connelly' on it, the Division 1 minutes call the 1911 president 'James Connolly', and the Butte Independent of 10 Oct 1914 reports 'recording secretary, James J. Connolly' elected with James J. Murphy as county president (Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives papers and Butte Independent OCR snippets, read in Sept 2026; research notes, not filed sources). The one doubt is the 16 Mar 1915 committee list, which prints 'James Connolly' (A. O. H. hall floor) and 'James J. Connolly' (Coliseum hall reception): explained if the Division 1 officer was also the county recording secretary, but kept in view. The camp key in the RELA books puts a James Connolly at No. 143 (research notes). Distinct from John Connolly (Division 3 sentinel 1913; Irish Relief committee 1916-17), Jack Connolly ($5, 1912) and Ed Connolly (1920).
