### (a) What it is
A photograph of a whole **printed book page** (portrait, 1796 x 4000 px), in the same typeface and heading style as images 1 and 2. **No running header and no page number are visible.** Blank margin sits above the section heading; below the last line there is only a short printed or inked dash at the far bottom-left, which cannot be read as a number. The page is a right-hand page. At the left edge the line-ends of the facing page are clipped: "garet / chael / shire, / now, / , Co. / … / son / ces / am, / d in / rig / tsy / o a / … / n. / h. / gh / s. / er / to / ) / d / s / n / d / n" [clipped: facing page, unreadable as text]. The outer (right) edge of the page is torn and brown-stained but cuts no text.
It holds:
1. A surname-section heading **O'LEARY (WEST FOROMANES)** with an introductory paragraph on Jack O'Leary and his wife Catherine O'Sullivan (Seer).
2. **(A) JACK O'LEARY & CATHERINE O'SULLIVAN**, complete (10 children).
3. **(B) JIM O'LEARY & CATHERINE HARRINGTON (WEST FOROMANES)**, children (1) to (9) only; the text runs on past the foot of the page.
**Handwritten annotations**, several inks. **Inference:** the owner or sender of the book added them. They are not printed:
- A black ink star left of the "O'LEARY" heading.
- A large red ink tick right of "(WEST FOROMANES)".
- In blue ink in the top-right margin: **"Dan / Norr"** [second word uncertain: "Norr"/"Norc"/"Nork"?], then a circled **"NB"** and a blue star beneath it.
- A black ink line from the dash before "Jack O'Leary" (first line of the paragraph) curving down the left margin to a star beside "(A)".
- In black ink above the (A) heading: **"Your Relative"**, with a small star under "Your" and another star at the right end of the heading.
- Wavy dark-ink underlining beneath "Johanna" (child 5), "Jerry Murphy, son of John Murphy" and "Mary Harrington, Kilmacowen".
- A dark-ink bracket in the right margin, with a small hook or "?"-like mark at its top, alongside the lines from "(6) \*Jim (Jan. 29th" to "(7) Denny".
- A black ink **"NB"** in the right margin beside "(8) Mary Ann ... married Con O'Sullivan,".
- Heavy blue ink strokes in the right margin beside the "(10) Katie ... Curly O'Leary ... Pat Murphy, carpenter" lines.
- In red ink above the (B) heading: **"Mick Saddlers"** [first word uncertain], with a red arrow pointing right. A small ink mark also sits over the "n" of "Catherine" in the first paragraph.

Spellings are kept as printed: "Thaidhg", "Keagh", "Droumbeg", "Coulagh", "Kilmacowen", "Carrigeel", "Foromanes", "Dan O'Neills" and "Donie O'Sheas" (no apostrophe before the s), and "Lack)." (full stop after the bracket). The asterisk before "Jim" is printed; Ó Dwyer marks the child who settles in the home farm this way. Dates were checked at 1.4-2x zoom.

- **Curly O'Leary**: original owner of Katie's house in Eyeries Village; "also owned Donie O'Sheas pub". No dates.
- Family (B), **Jim O'Leary & Catherine Harrington**, West Foromanes, "2nd and 3rd cousins", 11 children:
- (1) **Mary** (Feb. 28th 1911); (2) **Kitty** (Dec. 30th 1912); (3)-(4) twins **Annie** and **Margaret** (Oct. 1st 1914); (5) **Jack** (Apr. 26th 1916).
- (6)-(8) **Julia** (Oct. 28th 1917), **Michael** (Jan. 29th 1919) and **Eileen** (May 28th 1920) all died young.
- (9) **Josephine** (no date), New York. Children (10) and (11) are off the page.
Harrington:
- **Mary**: "Jack Flor Harrington's mother, Inches". She is a sister of Catherine O'Sullivan. **Inference:** she was born an O'Sullivan (Seer) and married a Harrington.
- **Jack Flor Harrington**, Inches.
- **Sean Harrington (Duve)**, The Strand, Eyeriesbeg: drowned "around 1891".
- **Mary Harrington**, Kilmacowen: wife of John Murphy.
- **Catherine Harrington**: wife of Jim O'Leary (b. 1880); daughter of **Jer Harrington** and **Catherine Harrington**, The Strand, Eyeries (Lower Dreenagh side, bordering Eyeriesbeg).
- No "Uonhi" on the image. **Inference:** the red "Mick Saddlers" note may point to the Harrington (Saddler) family of The Strand. The Annals pages already transcribed in this thread mention "Jer Harrington (Saddler) who settled in the Strand" (see `annals-verification.md`). The image itself does not make this link.
O'Sullivan (Seer):
- **Catherine O'Sullivan**: wife of Jack O'Leary. Daughter of **Tadhg Seer O'Sullivan (Keagh)** and **Mary O'Connor**, Droumbeg, Ardgroom Inward. Her siblings: **Jimmy Thaidhg Seer O'Sullivan** ("Patie Jimmy's father, Droumbeg"), **Mary** (Jack Flor Harrington's mother, Inches), **Biddy** (Dan O'Neill's mother, the Road, Coulagh), **Flor** (Droumbeg) "etc.". The page gives no dates for any of them.
- Other O'Sullivans (not Seer): **Con O'Sullivan**, son of **Doncha (Shileen) O'Sullivan** and **Johanna Lowney**, Eyeries Village. **Connie (Batt) O'Sullivan**, son of **John O'Sullivan** and **Mary O'Sullivan**, Droumlave, Adrigole.
No **Croumhane/Crounhane** and no **Uonhi** appear on this image.
Inferences, not printed:
- **Inference:** "Your Relative", written above the (A) heading, is the annotator's message to Luke that this O'Leary/O'Sullivan (Seer) family is kin. The page does not say through whom. Two routes appear in this thread's other transcriptions. First, Jim Murphy of Ballycrovane married Julia O'Sullivan (Seer), "daughter of Daniel (Seer) O'Sullivan and Mary Goggin, Scrahan, Urhan" (`annals-verification.md`). Second, Annals p. 271 gives a Mary O'Leary as mother of a Patrick Murphy. **This image names no Mary O'Leary and no Patrick Murphy.** Its only Patrick is Patrick O'Leary (Feb. 3rd 1888), who died at about 5.
- **Inference:** the Seer named here (Tadhg Seer O'Sullivan (Keagh), Droumbeg, Ardgroom Inward) is not the same person as Daniel (Seer) O'Sullivan of Scrahan, Urhan. Any kinship between the two Seer lines is not stated on this image.
- **Inference:** the underlined Jerry Murphy (son of John Murphy & Mary Harrington, Kilmacowen) is a Murphy link for this family. The image gives him no connection to Patrick Murphy, to Eyeries Village or to Gorth.
### (d) Confidence
**High** for the printed text: sharp throughout, every word legible, dates checked at zoom. **Medium to low** for the handwritten notes: "Your Relative" and both "NB" marks are clear, but "Norr" and "Mick" are uncertain readings. No page number is recoverable.

## Image 4: B6856250 (email "Family of Catherine O'Sullivan Seer and Jack O'Leary")
### (a) What it is
A photograph of part of a **printed book page**, taken close up and in landscape (3715 x 906 px). It shows seven lines of text in the same typeface as images 1-3, with blank margin to the left. **No running header, no family heading and no page number are visible.** A **red/pink ink line**, handwritten, runs beneath the last printed line, from under "Co. Cork." to the right edge of the frame. **Inference:** it marks the end of the family entry.
**Inference:** this is the continuation of **(B) JIM O'LEARY & CATHERINE HARRINGTON (WEST FOROMANES)** from image 3. Image 3 breaks off at "Albert Connolly, son of Bill Connolly and Brigid", and this image opens "Hanley, Castletownbere. (Brigid Hanley ...". The children numbered (10) and (11) complete the "11 children" stated in image 3. The printed text here names neither family.
### (b) Verbatim transcription
> [clipped: preceding text not in frame] Hanley, Castletownbere. (Brigid Hanley was
> formerly of Bawnard and was a sister of Dan Hanley,
> carpenter, Croumhane); (10) Agnes (Sept. 16th 1924)
> married John Ahern in Cork City; (11) Nan (May 23rd
> 1928) married John Keating of Gurrane South,
> Drimoleague, Co. Cork.
Every word was checked at full resolution. "Croumhane" is printed with an M, as in image 1.
### (c) Names of interest
- **Croumhane**, here as a **place**: "Dan Hanley, carpenter, Croumhane". Brigid Hanley, "formerly of Bawnard", was his sister, and she is of Castletownbere.
- **Inference:** in this Annals text "Croumhane" is used both as a place (here) and as an O'Sullivan branch epithet (image 1, "MARGARET (CROUMHANE) O'SULLIVAN"). The 1858 baptism's "Margaret Crounhane" could reflect either use.
- **[O'Leary]**, surname inferred from the continuation, not printed: (10) **Agnes** (Sept. 16th 1924) married John Ahern in Cork City. (11) **Nan** (May 23rd 1928) married John Keating of Gurrane South, Drimoleague, Co. Cork.
- No Murphy, Harrington/Uonhi or O'Sullivan (Seer) is named on this image.
### (d) Confidence
**High.** The type is large and sharp, and every word is legible. The only limit is the tight frame: there is no heading or page number, so the family attribution above is an inference.
