Summary
Roman Catholic baptism record from Tuosist parish, Co. Kerry. - Name: Patrick Lyne - Date of Birth: 7 April 1872 - Date of Baptism: 14 April 1872 - Address: Gurtavallig (townland in Tuosist parish) - Gender: Male - Denomination: Roman Catholic - **Father**: Christopher Lyne (almost certainly the same Christopher Lyne who later emigrated to NY and died there 21 June 1887 per the 1887 NY-estate probate calendar) - **Mother**: Mary Shea - Sponsor 1 (Godfather): James Sheehan - Sponsor 2 (Godmother): Mary Sheehan - Priest: R. Scanlan TWO MAJOR CONNECTIONS: 1. **Patrick Lyne = JJM's 1909 AOH Division 2 sentinel**. The existing archive's 1909 AOH-cluster clipping ("James Murphy president of AOH and Patrick Lyne sentinel") almost certainly refers to this Patrick Lyne (b. 1872 Kerry; came to Butte by 1909). 37 years old in 1909 = plausible AOH officer age. 2. **Lyne-Shea kinship on the Beara peninsula**. JJM's maternal grandmother is **Margaret Shea** (m. Myles Lyne 1865). Patrick Lyne's mother is **Mary Shea**. POSSIBLE sisters or cousins — making JJM and Patrick Lyne second cousins through their grandmother/great-grandmother Shea line. This is the structural Lyne-Shea-Murphy connection that explains why Patrick Lyne was JJM's AOH sentinel (= a relative + same Beara extraction). 3. **Christopher Lyne (father) = the NY-d. 1887 emigrant**. Per the 1905 Irish Probate Calendar (filed at 1887-06-21_new-york-usa_christopher-lyne-of-kenmare-kerry- estate-probate), Christopher Lyne late of Lauragh Kenmare died 21 June 1887 at 232 Fulton St NY. Lauragh is near Gurtavallig (both in Tuosist parish Kerry-side Beara) — consistent. So Patrick Lyne (b. 1872) was 15 when his father Christopher died in NY. Patrick later emigrated himself to Butte (joining JJM's AOH cluster by 1909).

Open questions
- Confirm Patrick Lyne (b. 1872 Kerry) = the same Patrick Lyne who was JJM's 1909 AOH Division 2 sentinel — age + name + Beara extraction all fit; would need a Butte-arrival record (passenger list, naturalization) to anchor.
- Mary Shea (Patrick Lyne's mother, fl. 1872 Kerry) vs Margaret Shea (JJM's grandmother, fl. 1855-1865 Cork) — sisters, cousins, or unrelated? The Annals of Beara should resolve.
