James E. Murray (Butte attorney; Montana chairman for the Irish republic bond drive, 1920)
Also known as: Attorney James E. Murray, State Chairman James E. Murray, Marshal James E. Murray
family confidence: 0 — not family / context
From the filed sources alone his identity with the later United States senator is plausible but not proved (60): a Montana Standard page of 25 Aug 1935 (archive/pages/1935-08-25_montana-standard_p09, an LCBA convention item, not a linked clipping) names 'Senator James E. Murray' among speakers invited in Butte; no filed source says the 1920 attorney became senator, and no other James E. Murray appears in the archive. Luke can confirm. The 'James E. Murray' in the metadata of the 17 Mar 1914 banquet is a misreading: the page prints 'Song—"I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" ... James N. Murphy'. Distinct from James A. Murray (INLA 1883), Frank Murray and Joseph Murray (1920).
