Born c. 1861 (age 31 in September 1892). Married Ellen in Cork, Ireland, on 1 March 1878. Two sons by 1892: John (age 12, b. ~1880) and Michael (age 9, b. ~1883), both in his custody. Ellen deserted him on 1 August 1889. Granted a divorce by the Anaconda court on 13 September 1892 (reported in the Anaconda Standard 1892-09-14 p.5). The Cork-Ireland marriage is the most direct West Cork → Butte family-line link in the archive so far.
