Murphy later of Division No. 1 is for the project to judge.)

accomplish at the coming convention, we beg to remain,
Fraternally yours,
Signed.
J. J. Lynch, State President.
Thos. J. Kelly " Vice "
T. J. McCarthy Acting State
Secretary
J. J. O'Mahony State Treasurer
Rev. J. J. O'Callaghan,
State Chaplain
After reading of Official Call, State President J. J. Lynch said:
Perhaps the first thing that should be done is to select and appoint
an official stenographer for the convention. It has been the custom to
select and appoint some short-hand writer who is a member of the order
to take down the proceedings in full. I undertook to appoint a young member
of Division #1, A. O. H. of Silver Bow County. However, it rests with
you entirely as to whether you think a stenographer is necessary or not.
We cannot get a full report of the proceedings without the services of
one.
Moved by English of Silver Bow, and seconded by several brothers,
that Stephen Hogan of Division #1 of Silver Bow County be selected to act
as Official Stenographer, to report the proceedings of the Convention.
Motion Carried.
A discussion arose as to who were the accredited delegates to the
convention from Deer Lodge County, and after considerable discussion, on
motion made and seconded the matter was referred to the Committee on
Credentials. The State President then requested the State Secretary
to read the names of Committee on Credentials, as selected by the various
County Presidents, as follows:
John K. O'Rourke, County President Silver Bow County.
A. Mularkey, County President Lewis & Clarke County.
Pat Colligan, Divison #1 Silver Bow County.
James Murphy, Division #2 Silver Bow County.
John Conway, Division #3 Silver Bow County.
A. P. Quinn, County President Missoula County.
P. J. Regan, Division #1 Cascade County.
James P. Kelly, Division #1 Deer Lodge County.
*(NOTE: the page is curved in the photograph, so the right-hand half of each of these lines appears to sit one typed line higher than the name it belongs to. The pairing given above is the correct one — it is confirmed by putting Quinn in Missoula, Regan in Cascade County and Kelly in Deer Lodge County, matching their known localities. Read naively off the slanted image, "James Murphy" would appear against "Division #3 Silver Bow County".)*
State President Lynch requested the Chairman of Committe on Credentials
to immediately call the Committee together and report as soon as possible.
Motion by Gallagher of Silver Bow, ans seconded by Bro. Dan Lynch Div. #3
Silver Bow County. Motion carried That we now take a recess until 1 P.M.
